Kailari by Chhabilal Kopila

Tortured by the evil landowner, Dukhuwa and his family pack their belongings and leave to make a new home in an unknown land. They cut through dangerous forests, cross multiple rivers and face unimaginable obstacles. Will they ever find a new home?

This story is inspired by true life events of Tharu communities moving from Dang to settle in Kailali. The story is especially relevant in the lives of kamlari or bonded labourers who were often cheated by their employers and forced to uproot their homes.
